GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Greenfield Police say they took nearly a thousand bags of heroin off the street after a traffic stop early Friday morning.
Greenfield Police say Antonio Rivera, 27, of Westfield, was the passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over just after midnight Friday. According to police, officers pulled over the car for failure to stop at a stop sign. That’s when they recognized Rivera as a suspected heroin dealer. After a search of the car, police allegedly found 967 bags of heroin and a small amount of marijuana.
Rivera was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin and possession with intent to distribute class A (heroin), a subsequent offense. Rivera has been convicted once of this charge and has one additional open charge.
Bail was set by the Clerk Magistrate of courts at $3,500.
The driver was issued a ticket for civil infractions.
