(WPTZ) The Chittenden County, New York prosecutor says the fatal shooting of an Army veteran by one of his two teenage children was legally justified because the man had threatened to kill his family with a gun.
Authorities say 44-year-old Kryn Miner was being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury from multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was killed at his Essex Junction home April 26.
State’s Attorney T.J. Donovan says the PTSD and brain injury suffered during Miner’s long military career played a role in the behavior that led to his death.
