(WDIV) A 90-year-old man convicted of transporting cocaine between two states for drug dealers spent his birthday in a Detroit courtroom Wednesday as he was sentenced to three years in prison.
“It’s a death sentence,” Leo Sharp said after leaving the courtroom with his lawyer.
Sharp had faced up to five years in prison after pleading guilty.
The judge overseeing the case called the sentencing decision “difficult”, noting that Sharp’s World War II service for which he was awarded the Bronze Star.
