EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A nursing assistant has been arrested for allegedly raping a 69 year-old patient at a nursing facility in East Longmeadow.

Police Sgt. Patrick Manley told 22News that Parkpoom Seesangrit, 24, of Great Barrington was arrested late Tuesday night at the facility, which he declined to name at this time.

According to Manley, police were called after Seesangrit was found in the room of a woman that he should not have been caring for, in “inappropriate circumstances.”

Manley explained that the facility has strict rules that prohibit men from caring for women patients, and vice versa.

The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center to be examined.

Seesangrit was charged with two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault and battery. He will be arraigned Wednesday in Palmer District Court.

Manley said that they are declining to name the facility at this time in part because they are investigating to see whether there are other victims.
