Man wounded in Springfield State Street shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News has new information regarding a shooting overnight in Springfield.

Springfield Police Lieutenant Thomas Maccini said there was a fight outside Kickback Lounge, which is on State Street, around 2 o’clock Sunday morning, the time the club closed.

Police got a call that shots were fired. When they got there, they chased a car for a few minutes to 57 Colonial Avenue.

That’s when they found the driver had a gunshot wound to the right leg. The driver was brought to Bay State Medical Center.

Police are still looking through witnesses’ stories and they’re trying to find the gun.
