SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A task force of health conscious individuals in Springfield’s Mason Square neighborhood took their physical fitness very seriously Saturday.
They came to the Dunbar Community Center to see what they could do about improving their health by losing weight.
They signed on for programs that will include walking, strength training and aerobics.
“It’s important to be healthy because I want to live longer. In order to live longer you have to plan to live,” Marcia Crutchfield of Springfield said.
Organizers hope that by turning the fitness programs into a team effort helps motivate more people achieve fitness through the loss of excess pounds.
