CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Remodeling a kitchen is a big undertaking and one that requires careful planning. If you’re thinking about redoing your kitchen, there are important things to consider before you go ahead with your remodeling plans and Dave Satkowski, Owner of Deerfield Cabinets in South Deerfield joined us to tell you what they are.
Some of the questions to ask yourself when starting your project:
What do you like and dislike about your current kitchen?
What needs to be changed, what can remain the same?
Do you have enough light? Do the windows work where there are, do we need to open up any walls?
Do you want the cabinets all the way to the ceiling, crown molding?
Are there enough drawers in your kitchen, do you need roll-out trays?
Do you like glass cabinets?
How about lazy susans in corner cabinets?
Stained wood versus painted cabinets.
Are soft close doors and drawers important?
Will there be new appliances, are we adding any appliances?
Two ovens, a built in microwave, free standing range or cook top?
Other things to consider-does the electrical service need to be upgraded?
What about the ceiling, is it in good shape or do we need to refinish?
