BOSTON (WWLP) – The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has pushed back the potential day MGM could get a gaming license from May 30 to June 13th. That’s the earliest MGM Springfield could be awarded a gaming license.
MGM has asked for a delay in the license approval process, but still be awarded a license since it would owe the state $85 million within 30 days of receiving it with it being unclear if there will be a vote in November to potentially repeal the casino law.
The Supreme Judicial court is expected to rule by July 9th, if there will be a referendum in November. Oral arguments in that case are set for Monday May 5th.
