Spending bill debate begins Monday

BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Debate begins on a Beacon Hill spending bill Monday. House lawmakers have proposed nearly 1,200 amendments to the state’s $36.2 billion budget.

Lawmakers are looking restore funding for many programs on the heels of better than expected tax revenues, and an improving economy. Among the many amendments, ones that would increase spending for early education and begin a tax amnesty program.
