CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Parishioners at St. Stanislaus Basilica in Chicopee say they have a personal and deep connection to Pope John Paul II.
Born Karol Josef Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II broke a tradition of Italian priests and bishops becoming pope.
In many homilies, priests this weekend remember him as a man of peace.
Some St. Stanislaus parishioners said they have wonderful memories of both popes John Paul the Second and John the 23rd.
