Two men shot overnight in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) – Springfield police say two men walked into emergency rooms with gunshot wounds: one at Mercy Medical at 11:56, the other at Baystate Medical Center at 11:48 Friday night.

Springfield Police Lieutenant Henry Gagnon told 22News one was a 22 year old man shot in the hip.

The other was a 19-year-old man shot in the left shoulder.

The man at Mercy was transferred to Baystate.

He said neither were cooperative with giving a description of the person who shot them.

One victim did say he was shot near Keith Street.

Lieutenant Gagnon said the two shootings could possibly be related.

Police will be looking for a suspect or suspects when they get more information from the victims, who are expected to be okay.
