MILFORD, Conn. (WWLP) – The family of high school Junior Maren Sanchez says she will be remembered as a “bright light full of hopes and dreams.”
Sanchez was stabbed to death at Jonathan Law High School in Milford, Connecticut on Friday. Her friends say she was outgoing and belonged to the National Honor Society. She also played guitar and was part of the drama club.
Police are investigating a possible motive. They say Sanchez may have been stabbed after turning down an invitation to the prom.
Meanwhile, the 16 year old suspect charged with her murder is under psychological evaluation. The boy’s attorney says he’ll likely remain in a medical facility for two weeks and will not appear at his arraignment on Monday.
He was charged as a juvenile but could be charged later as an adult.
