Man gets 17-year sentence for stolen guns

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a former Waterford man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for possessing firearms stolen in a burglary spree.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said Thursday that 46-year-old Mark Missino was sentenced in Bridgeport.

Authorities say in November 2010, Missino and Bernard McAllister possessed 19 firearms that they had stolen during a string of residential burglaries that took place between 2008 and 2010.

Missino and McAllister pleaded guilty to possession of firearms by a previously convicted felon.

Missino and McAllister also pleaded guilty in state court to several charges related to the residential burglaries.

McAllister was sentenced last month to nine years in prison.
