Victim of deadly I-91 crash identified by police

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP)-  A 24 year-old man was killed in a rollover crash near the Exit 9B ramp for Interstate 91 in Springfield early Friday morning.

According to a news release sent to 22News by State Police Media Relations, Luis Cardona Rodriguez of Holyoke died after he was thrown from his car in the accident.

Troopers say that Rodriguez was heading north on I-91 around 2:00 A.M., when he lost control of his 2002 Honda Accord, went off the right side of the roadway, and rolled over. They are still trying to figure out how Rodriguez lost control.

An ambulance was called in, but Rodriguez had died at the site of the crash, Sgt. Michael Andrews of the Massachusetts State Police Springfield barracks told 22News.
The 9B on-ramp was closed until about 5:30 a.m. as the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team and Springfield Crime Scene Unit investigated.
