David Chalue triple murder trial underway

David Chalue (pictured during his 2011 arraignment at Central Berkshire District Court) is accused of the murder of Edward Frampton, Robert Chadwell, and David Glasser.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The trial of the second of three men charged in a 2011 triple murder case has begun in Springfield. Opening statements were made in the trial of David Chalue in Springfield Friday morning.

Chalue’s trial follows a guilty verdict on several charges in the case of co-defendant Adam Lee Hall. Prosecutors accused Hall, Chalue, and a third man, Caius Veiovis, of kidnapping and killing David Glasser, Edward Frampton, and Robert Chadwell back in 2011.

Prosecutors say that Glasser was killed to prevent him from testifying against Hall, a member of the Hell’s Angels motorcycle gang, in a court case. Frampton and Chadwell were killed to eliminate any witnesses.

Prosecutors said Friday that they expect the trial to last about three weeks.

Though the three victims were from Pittsfield and their bodies were discovered in Becket, the murder trials were moved to Springfield due to the great amount of publicity the case received in Berkshire County.
