CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – There are powdered packets to change the flavor of your water, but what about packets to change your water into alcohol.
Launched by the Arizona Company Lipsmark, the new powdered alcohol product called palcohol is having trouble making it to store shelves.
The federal agency that initially approved the product is changing its position, but some residents told 22News, not having palcohol in the store is not a bad thing.
Gerri Gagnon, who is against powdered alcohol, said, “Personally, I’m concerned. It’s almost like a concealed weapon. So if you put it in water, and you’re going out and about, people think you’re drinking water and you’re really not.”
The agency reversed its approval after there seemed to be a discrepancy on how much powder is actually in the packets.
If palcohol is approved at the federal level it will still be subject to state regulations and only available to people over the age of 21.
