State Police dog finds missing Hatfield boy

HATFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Massachusetts State Police dog is being credited with finding a missing boy in Hampshire County.

State Police say a 10 year old Hatfield boy disappeared Monday morning after he went outside to play following breakfast.   Trooper Gary Hebert and K-9 Sasha, Trooper Dave Stucenski and K-9 Frankie, Trooper Ray Jones and K-9 Dakar and Trooper Tom Eliason & K-9 Viktor, were sent to the area around 11:45AM to search for the boy.

State Police say K-9 Dakar followed the boy’s trail through the woods and down a steep embankment.  The boy was found unharmed at the bottom of the embankment.

Trooper Jones and K-9 Dakar brought the boy out of the woods and he was reunited with his family.
