Springfield man arraigned for a shooting in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A 35-year-old man from Springfield was arraigned Tuesday for the shooting of a 21-year-old man on April 9th.

According to Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert, 35-year-old Jose Manuel Santiago was arrested last week for the shooting of a Holyoke man on April 9th at Appleton and Chestnut Streets.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. Lt. Albert said Santiago was charged with a warrant from Holyoke District Court after an investigation into the shooting.

Santiago was arraigned earlier in Holyoke District Court.

Members of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit and members of the FBI’s Western Mass. Gang Task Force assisted the Holyoke Criminal Investigations Bureau in the arrest.
