Woman taken to hospital after North End shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Police are on the lookout for suspects after shots were fired on Osgood Street in Springfield’s North End Tuesday afternoon, wounding one woman.

The woman was shot in her left leg, and was taken to Baystate Medical Center, according to Springfield Police Sgt. Mark Rollard. She is expected to survive.

Officers have set up crime scene tape and blocked-off the one way street to traffic while they investigated.

A crowd of curious residents in the neighborhood have gathered on the sidewalk on nearby Dwight Street to see what was going on.
