BRAINTREE, Mass. (WWLP) – How much would you pay for a chance to instantly win $15 million? The state is hoping that you’ll think $30 is a fair amount.

The Massachusetts State Lottery officially launched their $30 “World Class Millions” instant scratch ticket on Tuesday. The price is the highest ever for a lottery ticket, but the jackpot is also the highest ever offered for an instant game in Massachusetts. The game also has the highest overall odds of wining a prize, at 1 in 2.81.

The Lottery is printing 25.2 million “World Class Millions” tickets, and they are projecting the game will reach a profit of $86.8 million; money that is to be distributed to cities and towns across the state.

Connecticut, New Hampshire, and other states have been selling $30 lottery scratch tickets for years, but this is not the highest price for an American lottery ticket; The Texas Lottery has a $50 instant win game.
