SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Paving work will close a major ramp to Interstate 91 in Springfield on Thursday.
The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission announced that they will be closing the ramp from Longhill Street to I-91 and Rt. 5 northbound from about 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Thursday.
The paving work is being done after a valve repair was done on the ramp last week. Since that time, a steel plate has been in the roadway.
While the paving work is going on, drivers seeking to go north on I-91 or Route 5 will be detoured to the East Columbus Avenue ramp. Traffic onto I-91 southbound from Longhill Street will not be impacted by the ramp closure.
