Two arrested for armed robbery in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two men were arrested overnight, shortly after Springfield police say they were involved in an armed robbery.

Springfield Police Lieutenant Thomas Messini told 22News the two men are Ramon Torres of Springfield and Jose Torres of North Adams.

They allegedly threatened a man with a knife in a parking lot near Bond and Patton Streets and took his cell phone.

The man went to BP Mart nearby on Main Street to report the crime. Police caught up with the suspects on Dwight Street, near the Route 291 Entrance.

The men will be arraigned on Tuesday.
