HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – To some, the vintage Easter Parade may no longer seem relevant in today’s society.
But in Holyoke, it’s still alive and well.
It’s the annual Easter drag, when families show off their Easter attire along Northampton Street near the iconic hot dog stand known as Nick’s Nest. Michael Griffin of Holyoke told 22News, he loves keeping the tradition alive.
“It’s a good tradition to be with family and friends and everything, especially now I can bring my daughter who is now three years old and we do the same thing we did when I was a lot younger.”
And to help capture the spirit of times gone by, the Easter tradition included a vintage car display.
Easter parades were still in style when the cars were new.
