CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee Police have shot and killed a fox believed to have had rabies.
Chicopee Police Lt. Don Strange told 22News the fox was acting aggressive when it was shot and killed on Fletcher Circle at around 12:30 this afternoon. Police think it may be the same fox that bit a woman and two children earlier in the day.
The woman was bit on Fletcher Circle earlier this morning, and a seven month old baby and three year old child were also bit. The fox will be taken to lab to be tested for rabies.
Lt. Strange says neighbors believe there may also be a second rabid fox in the area.
