CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Chicopee Rotary Club Thursday made certain that more than 100 needy families will have Easter dinner.
With the 22News garage as their staging area, the Rotarians prepared bags of food either donated or purchased by the club members themselves.
Donating ham dinners to those in need is something the Rotary Club’s been doing for more than 10 years.
Veteran Rotarian Jason Allen told 22News of the satisfaction it gives him. “I love it, that’s the only way I could put it. Because I love doing this, look forward to it every year and It gives us as a group the chance to get together and feel in our own way to help out the community and furthering the spirit of generosity and kindness.”
The Rotarians delivered the Easter dinner food to nearly 130 Chicopee households. The Rotary Club also delivers food for the needy at Christmas and Thanksgiving.
