MONROE, Conn. (WTNH) – A Monroe music teacher was arrested Tuesday after police said he inappropriately touched two young female students during lessons held inside their homes.

Bruce Connery, 68, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault. The ages of the girls were 10 and 15, police said.

While investigating the initial complaint that Connery inappropriately touched the 10-year-old student, police said they received a second, similar complaint from a parent of the 15-year-old girl.

Connery has previously taught at Stratford High School, according to his Facebook page. He also served as the emergency medical services director in Stratford for 20 years, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Monroe man posted $20,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in court April 23.
