No threat found in UMass Boston bomb scare

BOSTON (WWLP) – A building on the UMass Boston campus was evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to a reported bomb threat, but nothing suspicious was found.

The university announced around 3:00 P.M. that the “all clear” was given in the Wheatley Building, and said that no suspicious device was found. UMass Boston can return to business as usual, and a 4:00 P.M. open house for transfer students will continue as scheduled.

Early in the afternoon, the University had posted the following message on their official Facebook page following the threat:

“UMass Boston Alert: Officials on scene at Wheatley Building for unconfirmed bomb threat. Wheatley has been evacuated. Will provide more info when available.”
