FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — State police say two people have died in a rush hour crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Framingham.
The crash involving a minivan and a tractor-trailer hauling lumber on the eastbound side of the highway was reported at about 5 a.m. Wednesday. Because the wood spilled into the westbound side, lanes in both directions were closed during the investigation, causing miles-long backups.
The state police official Twitter account confirmed the deaths. No details about the victims were immediately released.
The cause remains under investigation.
