“Represent Us” organization protests tax day

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – While many people were trying to get their taxes done on time, others were out protesting tax day in the pouring rain.

Representatives of Represent Us were in Northampton Tuesday protesting money and politics. They said they feel like there’s so much money in politics that ordinary citizens aren’t being represented.

Josh Silver of Represent Us told 22News, “The decisions being made in Washington and in state houses are being made on behalf of the people who give the most money to politics and its become an auction. We’re trying to end that.”

Represent Us is a national organization working toward reform in campaign finance and lobbying laws.
