NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Senator Elizabeth Warren was in Western Massachusetts Saturday.
Massachusetts’ Senator spoke to hundreds of people who govern the cities and towns in Franklin and Hampshire Counties.
Senator Warren told 22News, Congress should be helping the folks back home, not bossing them around.
“I come out here because the federal government needs to be a good partner to our local government,” said Warren. “Local government is trying to make it happen every day and Washington shouldn’t be telling them what to do, but should be there to help out when it can.”
The delegates from the Western Massachusetts cities and towns spent much of the day talking, for example, about how technology will help them get closer to the people they’re trying to help.
