SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Children and Teens had the chance to learn about Healthy living in Springfield’s Mason Square Wednesday night.
The Baystate Mason Square Neighborhood Health Center hosted the eleventh annual “Teen Health Night.” The main focus was on smoking prevention, sexually transmitted diseases, teen pregnancy and nutrition.
Kaelani Sharif-Marshall of Springfield told 22News, “If you smoke, it can mess up your heart and lungs, and you can start talking like, ‘rrrrr,’ and nobody can understand what you’re saying.”
“A lot of the information that you might find out here today or next year, will definitely help you in the future when you need it,” said Courtney Stewart of Springfield.
Emphasis was on prevention of disease or unhealthy habits. Teen Health Night was held in recognition of “Public Health Month.”
