Public Safety Services Day held in Southwick

SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) – Saturday was Public Safety Services Day in the town of Southwick.

Families from throughout the area accepted the invitation from the Southwick police and fire departments.

Visitors checked out the equipment and got to understand just how these departments function to protect the public.

And it wasn’t just for Southwick residents. Christopher Robare of Westfield and his wife Dawn told 22News Public Safety Services Day was of benefit to them.

“We’ve been on a tour of the entire police department. We saw the Lifestar helicopter, we learned about the K-9 unit in Southwick. Pretty good place,” said Christopher Robare of Westfield.

It came as no surprise when the fire department equipment proved to be the most fascinating for the children.
