MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) – Monson Police arrested a 28-year-old man from Connecticut after he broke into multiple houses, Friday afternoon, including one in Country Club Heights.
According to Monson Police Chief Stephen Kozloski, residents at a Country Club Heights home interrupted 28-year-old Christopher J. Colby of Union, Conn., breaking into the house. During a traffic stop, about 2 miles away from the house, police arrested Colby who had run away from the scene.
Chief Kozloski said police linked Colby to a house break on Mayhill Road in Monson early Friday. Police are now investigating the stolen property that was seized during Colby’s arrest and finding who the property belongs to.
Anyone recognizing the property should contact the Monson Police Department at (413) 267-5136
Colby did not leave any signs of a disruption inside both houses and used locksmiths tools to gain entry without force, said Chief Kozloski. Monson residents are asked to check their valuables closely since it may be very difficult to determine that they had actually been the victim of a crime.
Colby is currently being charged with 2 counts of B&E Daytime for a Felony, Larceny from a Building, Attempted Larceny from a Building, Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (mace), and Possession of Heroin.
