Classes to resume at UConn, following bomb threat

STORRS, Conn. (WWLP) – Officials at the University of Connecticut have cleared all areas of the campus except for one building, following a bomb threat that caused them to issue a “shelter-in-place” order Thursday morning.

During the mid-morning hours, the school sent-out a campus-wide alert, and posted this message on their Facebook page:

ALERT – STORRS CAMPUS: There has been a bomb threat at the Tasker Building, also known as the Admissions building. If you are in or near this location, please evacuate immediately. All other locations: shelter in place. No events have occurred and the police department is investigating. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available. Please visit for information and updates.

Around noontime, they lifted the shelter-in-place order, and said that classes would continue as scheduled starting at 12:30 P.M. Officials posted the following message on Facebook:

Storrs Campus Update: Classes will resume at 12:30 p.m. today. The Tasker Building is still under investigation and closed. All other campus areas have been cleared. Get the most up-to-date info on our Alert website.
