17-year-old bicyclist injured in hit-and-run in Easthampton

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – An Easthampton bicycle rider suffered serious leg injuries when he was hit by a car that never stopped and drove away in Easthampton Thursday night.

Easthampton Police Sgt. Dominic Serino told 22News a 17-year-old boy from Easthampton was hit while riding his bike near 60 Everett Street at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was rushed to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, and subsequently re-routed to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, according to Serino.

Sgt. Serino said police have conflicting reports from witnesses and don’t know what kind of car they’re looking for, but he said there was debris and car parts left behind.
