AMHERST, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S., affecting 1 in 68 children. But you can help raise awareness about Autism and enjoy some fun at the same time at the upcoming Autism Speaks Run at UMass. Stephanie Tufano and Sian Wynter shared more about the event.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male finishers, the top 3 female finishers, the top individual fundraiser and the top fund raising team!

About the Event:
This year’s event will take place on Sunday April 6, 2014 at Kendrick Park (across from Bertucci’s) in Amherst Center. Registration opens at 10:30am, opening ceremonies kick-off at 11:30am, and the race begins with a shot gun start at noon!
Students, families and community members are encouraged to participate. Register here for the 5K Run or 3K Walk. The registration fee is $15 (before March 15) and $20 from March 15 through race day. T-shirts will be provided to all registrants who have signed up by March 15th. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male finishers, the top 3 female finishers, the top individual fundraiser and the top fund raising team!
Also featured at the event is a family-friendly 3K Walk, information on autism, entertainment, kids area, carnival-like activities, bounce house, food, refreshments, and a raffle. We look forward to seeing you on event day!
