Flood warning for Eastern Hampden, Hampshire Counties

PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) – The National Weather Service has issued a Areal Flood Warning for eastern portions of Hampden and Hampshire Counties, and southwestern portions of Worcester County.

These warnings are issued when there is a risk of street, stream, and small river flooding.

The Ware River in the Worcester County town of Barre was reported at flood stage around 9:00 A.M. Minor flooding has been reported along the river, according to the National Weather Service.

In addition to the flooding along waterways, you are reminded about the danger of roadway flooding. If you see a flooded road, remember: turn around, don’t drown.

The warning remains in effect until 3:00 P.M.
