Feeding Hills traffic detour to last at least 8 months

FEEDING HILLS, Mass. (WWLP)–A major water main construction project is scheduled to begin Monday morning.

The project to replace several water main lines in the Feeding Hills section of Agawam will force drivers to use a detour starting at the intersection of North Street and North Westfield Street up to the Agawam/Westfield city line.

22News is working for you with the following detour options:

  • Drivers can take North West Street between Southwick Street (Route 57) and North Westfield Street (Route 187)
  • You can also use North Street Extension.

In a news release sent to 22News, the Town of Agawam says the water main replacement project will go on between 7 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. every Monday through Friday until November.

Agawam Department of Public Works Deputy Superintendent John Decker said the city is replacing existing 24, 12, and 8-inch water lines during this construction project.
