Police search for Holyoke shooting suspect

Michael Santiago was wanted for the shooting of a 16-year-old man

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Holyoke Police were searching for a 23-year-old man who allegedly shot a 16-year-old boy at 569 South Canal Street on March 23rd.

According to Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert, the department was asking for the public’s help with finding Michael Santiago, aka Mexico, of Holyoke. Santiago was considered armed and dangerous, and wanted on multiple warrants.

Santiago was wanted for Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Handgun), Home Invasion, and Armed Assault in a Dwelling.

Lt. Albert said Santiago was also wanted for Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Building, which was part of the investigation of a shooting incident on South Canal Street in Holyoke that left a 16-year-old with a bullet to the head.
