Fugitive from Vermont arrested in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – With information from the U.S. Marshal’s Service, Pittsfield Police located and arrested a federal fugitive from Vermont early Wednesday morning. Loaded handguns and bullet-proof vests were seized in the arrest.

According to the Pittsfield Police Facebook page, officers served an arrest warrant at a Pittsfield apartment Wednesday morning and arrested the fugitive and one other person.

After thoroughly searching the apartment, police said they found the following:

  • 3 loaded handguns
  • 2 bullet-proof vests
  • 1 with a ceramic protection plates
  • Protective helmet
  • Stun gun
  • 4 bags of cocaine
  • 1 large bag of marijuana
  • 2 jars of liquid PCP
  • Digital scales
  • Packaging material
  • More than $4,700 in cash

Berkshire County Drug Task Force, Massachusetts State Police and United States Marshals Service all assisted the Pittsfield Police Department in serving the arrest warrant.
