(WWLP) – The state legislature is currently considering a proposal to raise the minimum wage. A State Senate bill would raise the wage to $11 per hour, while a proposal in the House would raise it to $10.50 per hour.

These plans would raise the wages for all workers, but the Retailers Association of Massachusetts is hoping to see a lower minimum wage for teen workers. The association’s president told the Boston Herald that several states have a lower minimum wage for teens, and noted that far fewer Massachusetts teens are working now than 15 years ago.

What do you think? Would it be a good idea for Massachusetts to have a separate minimum wage for teens, which would be lower than the state minimum wage? Vote in today’s 22News Interactive Internet Poll, and tell us what you think in the comments below.
