CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Consumer confidence jumped this month as people grew more upbeat about future job prospects.
The Consumer confidence went up four points from February to March, to its highest reading since January of 2008.
Springfield Financial Adviser Mark Teed told 22News that the future’s looking pretty bright. “This winter was so difficulty that it held people back from buying cars, going to restaurants, and going out to buy retail. So there’s a lot of pent-up demand. I suspect if we have a good spring without a lot of rain, it will be very good for retailers.”
Teed told 22News the stock market is already moving higher in anticipation of lower energy prices and more consumers spending.
