Amherst teacher speaks at racist graffiti meeting

Police were still search for the person responsible

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The teacher who was the target of racist acts at Amherst Regional High School spoke Tuesday night at a school committee meeting.

Town residents were growing concerned after racist graffiti was found written on a bathroom stall in the high school, directed at math teacher Carolyn Gardner.

Gardner had not returned to school since the graffiti was found, and police were still looking for whoever may be responsible.
