Yoga is for Every-Body! Yoga is becoming a very hot topic these days in the world of health and wellness. A recent study by Yoga Journal “Yoga in America Study” said that there are 20.4 million yoga practitioners and 44.4% of Americans who say they intend to try it!
About Kripalu Yoga:
Kripalu Yoga is known as the yoga of compassion, and is a style of yoga (some folks do not even know there are choices or styles of yoga, and there are many to choose from…) is accessible, as I like to say, to every-body. It can be very gentle and soothing for the nervous system and the stretching and strengthening is wonderful for the physical body. So if you have health concerns or challenges like fibromyalgia, arthritis, back pain or have not been exercising or moving regularly, this is a great way to be reintroduced to your physical self…to regain confidence and comfort in the physical body. Kripalu yoga offers many modifications and variations, so that each person who comes to class can move the way they need and want to move, within the template of the poses, to accommodate any limitations or restrictions they might have. So you do not have to wait till you are perfectly fit, strong, thin, in shape to begin.
The focus is on paying attention…watching and noticing the thoughts in the mind…and we say if you can breathe, you can do Kripalu Yoga.
