SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP)– Springfield Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing the United Bank branch in Springfield Tuesday morning.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News it happened at 459 Main Street in the Indian Orchard section Springfield, around 11:09 a.m. Tuesday.
Sgt. Delaney said a man walked into the bank and implied that he had a weapon, and demanded cash, then ran away with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect is being described as a white man, about 5’10”, with a pock marked face and a small amount of facial hair, possibly in his 20’s, with a thin build. The man police are looking for is wearing a dark gray sweatshirt with bright orange trim, gray sweat pants, and large thick red rimmed glasses.
The area was surrounded by police and the robbery is under investigation by the Detective Bureau.
