MassDOT: RMV in Springfield is moving

The location will have more parking

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Registry of Motor Vehicles in Springfield is relocating its branch to a new location on Martone Place in Springfield.

According to Michael Verseckes of the MassDOT, the RMV in Springfield is moving from 165 Liberty Street to 36 Martone Place in Springfield.

After complaints of extremely long lines during this year’s cold winter days, the new branch will be 14,000 square feet and will better serve the needs of customers and employees, said Verseckes.

The location will have more parking, an E-ZPass center, and will allow customers to conduct all RMV-related transactions.

The MassDOT hopes to relocate the RMV by the fall of this year. Two buildings in the area will have to be demolished before construction can begin.
