Campers pulled from floodwaters

(WSFA) A dozen campers and their pet lemur are safe on dry land after flood waters overtook their vehicles and turned their Alabama camp site into a rapidly shrinking island Sunday.

The campers were pulled to higher ground by the Autauga County Swift Water Rescue Squad after becoming stranded.

The swift water rescue squad was founded in 2005, but Sunday was the first time it had been put into action.
