AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The UMass Minutemen Men’s Basketball team found out Sunday night that they’ll be heading to the NCAA tournament.

UMass was selected as the 6th seed in the tournament. That means they’ll plan either Iowa or Tennessee on Friday in North Carolina.

It’s the 8th time the Minutemen have made it to NCAA tournament. They’ve advanced to the Sweet Sixteen three times, made it into the Elite Eight twice, and have been in the Final Four once.

UMass is led by Coach Derek Kellogg and Senior Guard Chaz Williams, who averages nearly 16 points a game.
