SHARON, Conn. (WWLP) – A team of weapons experts from Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee helped to safely remove a stockpile a military firearms from a man’s home in Connecticut.
A team of Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians joined the state police and the FBI inside the home of 59-year-old George Laning in Sharon, Connecticut.
Laning was found dead in the home by a friend.
He died of natural causes, but inside the home, police found an anti-tank gun, grenades, an AR-15, bombs and a flamethrower. They also found thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Laning was described as a recluse.
