CHARLEMONT, Mass. (WWLP) – The 6th annual Chowderfest was held on Sunday at the Mohawk Park Family Restaurant & Pub in the Franklin County town of Charlemont.
Music, good company, and good chowder were what the event was all about. It brought together people from town, and even out of town.
They look forward to the Chowderfest every year. Chowders ranged from creamy seafood chowders to Buffalo Blue Cheese Chicken Cordon Bleu chowder.
Tammy Hicks of Charlemont told 22News, “12 different chowders. Chowders from restaurants. Chowdwers from anyone who wants to enter a chowder. We have corn chowder, corn and cheese, your typical New England Clam Chowder.”
Proceeds from the Chowderfest went to benefit the Friends of the Charlemont Fairgrounds.
They organize community event like the Yankee Doodle Days Fair in the summer, a chili fest in January and a Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast in June.
